According to Rybar, on the night of May 28, 2026, Ukrainian forces launched up to 150 UAVs toward Russian regions; air defense systems were active over Crimea and air raid alerts were reported in several territories. A civilian passenger bus was struck near Donetsk. Russian Armed Forces conducted multiple strike waves against Odesa, Bilhorod-Dnistrovskyi in Odesa Oblast, Poltava, and Sumy Oblast. In the Sumy direction, Shostka district, units of Army Group 'Sever' reportedly repelled an AFU counterattack.

An additional 20 Gripen E variants are to be procured for Kyiv, expected to arrive no earlier than 2030 and partially funded through an EU credit of 90 billion euros. Rybar notes this represents a significant reduction from an earlier Swedish pledge, reportedly made in October of the previous year, of up to 150 Gripen aircraft.

Rybar reports that three vessels north of the Bosphorus Strait were struck by UAVs, according to Turkish sources. The vessels allegedly hit include the Palau-flagged ship James II and two Sierra Leone-flagged tankers, which were reportedly conducting an offshore oil transfer at the time of the strikes. Rybar attributes the UAV attacks to Ukraine.

According to Rybar's morning summary for May 27, 2026, Ukrainian forces conducted overnight UAV and missile strikes on Crimea: at least 14 UAVs were shot down over Sevastopol, and footage circulating online purportedly shows smoke near the Black Sea Fleet Air Force headquarters. Rybar also reports that air-launched missiles were fired at the central part of the peninsula, reportedly targeting an electrical power station, but claims Russian air defense intercepted them with no power outages recorded. Additionally, a missile was reportedly directed at the area of an aviation plant in Rostov Oblast, near Tsiolkovsky Street, where fires broke out.
According to Rybar, Russian Armed Forces conducted a series of strikes against targets in the frontline zone on 26 May 2026, with power disruptions reported in several regions of Ukraine. Rybar reports that Dnipropetrovsk and Kharkiv were struck using OTRK systems and UAVs, while 'Geran' UAVs targeted AFU facilities in Poltava and neighboring settlements. Rybar also reports that Ukrainian formations launched several dozen UAVs against border territories and Crimea, with the post appearing to cut off before further detail was provided.
